The challenge

As part of a 3-year framework, United Utilities needed a North-West-based, multi-skilled contractor to carry out planned maintenance and refurbishment works at various sites across the region. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, often around drinking water and live services, careful project planning and strict health and safety procedures were priorities.

The solution

Building Projects Group worked closely with United Utilities to maintain a safe working environment, meaning that services wouldn’t be disrupted or contaminated. Our meticulous planning meant we could carry out work while ensuring the utmost safety. This included everything from office refurbishments to reservoir property repairs.

With this being a 3-year arrangement, our relationship with United Utilities was important to us. So part of our work was to establish a clear line of communication with the client, so they could be confident in how we handled ourselves and the infrastructure that’s vital to so many across the North West.

The benefits

United Utilities operatives now have a modernised working environment which meets all current health and safety standards. United Utilities could trust us to adhere to their strict guidelines, and were incredibly pleased with the level of service and professionalism on display. The people of the North West also have a more robust system which should improve the quality of their water.
