The challenge

Blythe House Hospice provides holistic care and support for anyone in the High Peak region living with serious life-threatening illnesses. Commissioned by Macmillan Cancer Relief, we were brought on board to build a drop-in centre at the hospice. But this seemingly simple project needed a wide scope of work. An existing smoking shelter and storeroom needed converting into a modern, welcoming extension, without disturbing patients and staff at the hospice.

The solution

With extensive experience working in live environments - specifically high-care ones - Building Projects Group was the perfect choice for the project. We constructed the new extension and fit-out with great care and detail. Beautiful fitted furniture and engineered oak flooring gave it a sense of character. Our scope of work also included external landscaping, turning it into a tranquil place for those who need it.

The benefits

The project was completed on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s absolute satisfaction. Blythe House now has a Macmillan Cancer Care Information Centre providing a unique drop-in service for anyone affected by cancer in the area, with access to high-quality information and empathic support. Blythe House was so impressed with the standards and execution of the project that they invited us back to work on a further extension project.
