The challenge

Building Projects Group was appointed by Brigshaw High School in Castleford to undertake and deliver a complete refurbishment to the male and female toilets. They were looking to merge them into a single unisex toilet area. But they needed this delivering partly during term time, meaning the school had to remain operational throughout parts of the project. Due to this, it also meant the school was restricted on toilet facilities, so speed was of the essence.

The solution

For this to work, there had to be strict coordination and cooperation between our team and the school. With our high expertise and track record of working in live environments, this was no issue at all. Despite there being other toilets in the school, it was still vital for us to maintain a strict programme and ensure no delays. As always, we completed the scheme on time and within budget.

The benefits

We successfully cooperated with the school, maintaining a strong system of communication at all times to ensure there was no disruption to their day to day. The site was kept clean, and dust was minimised to the lowest point at all times. Works which required loud tool use were strategically planned around the students' lessons to, again, ensure no disruption. The final product perfectly suits what Brigshaw High School was looking for, and the students have a brand new, fully functional toilet.
