The challenge

The weather station and toilet block that needed converting were situated in an active, bustling park. Our work couldn’t impede their day-to-day activities, meaning noise pollution was a huge concern going into this. Due to the building being out of use, we had to organise and provide DDA-compliant WC facilities, as well as canteen and offices, to The Land Trust so they could operate without any issues throughout the contract.

The solution

After ensuring the client had everything they needed to continue their work, we set about fully converting the old buildings into the new visitor centre. This included a full mechanical and electrical upgrade to bring it to an acceptable standard, along with security features, such as rolling shutters. Our work extended outside, with beautiful landscaping and new render on all external fascia.

The benefits

Despite unexpected weather, Building Projects Group finished the work on schedule and within budget. Constant communication with the client was the key to this project; it is ultimately what made the scheme such a massive success. The centre is now fully operational and offers a fun day out for all.
